Common sense of UV resin

UV resin, also known as UV oligomer, is an important material constituting UV film Z. under the condition of UV irradiation, they are cross-linked into network structures with different density through the activation of photoinitiator molecules, so that the UV coating has various physical and mechanical properties, such as high hardness, high softness, better substrate adhesion, low yellow property, high weather resistance, etc, UV coating engineers often screen out suitable UV oligomers according to the film properties they need to obtain.

The commonly used UV oligomers are distinguished from the molecular structure. We can summarize them into: epoxy acrylate oligomer, polyurethane acrylate oligomer, amino acrylate oligomer, polyester acrylate oligomer, pure acrylate oligomer and other acrylate oligomers with special structure. Through the principle of structure division, we explain the theory and briefly describe the performance of commonly used UV oligomer products, find the theoretical basis to support their performance, and deepen the understanding of related products.

It should be pointed out that UV oligomers can also be divided into various products with different functional degrees in the same structural category. With different number of functional groups, the compactness of the network structure formed will be inconsistent. Functional groups refer to the active groups in the resin that can undergo cross-linking reaction. The more functional groups in a single molecule, the denser the film formed after curing, and the easier it is to obtain the paint film with higher hardness. However, at the same time, due to the increase of the number of cross-linking groups, the shrinkage force generated in the process of oligomer curing will also increase, This will easily lead to the obstruction of stress release or the decrease of adhesion during the drying process of the coating. After setting the comprehensive properties of the coating, the UV coating formulator needs to select the appropriate products for matching according to the oligomer properties of different structures and functional groups, so as to obtain the coating with balanced performance and complete the design of UV coating formula.

If the viscosity of UV resin is too high, it is not suitable to add too much for some application points that need UV glue with good fluidity. The refractive index of the resin is too low. At the point of use of optical lens, the light transmittance is insufficient, so it is not used as a reference. As for the viscosity force, the resin containing – Oh generally has a good adhesion to glass, so I won’t explain it too much here. UV resin is the matrix resin of UV glue. It is compounded with photoinitiator, active diluent and various additives to form UV glue. In the synthesis stage, different synthesis processes or the selection of monomers lead to the uncertainty of the resin. The viscosity, refractive index and applicability of the resin to various materials need to be considered.

The main application fields of UV resin: UV coating, UV ink, UV glue, etc. among them, Z is widely used in UV coating, including the following types of UV water-based coating, UV powder coating, UV leather coating, UV optical fiber coating, UV metal coating, UV paper polishing coating, UV plastic coating and UV wood coating.

Advantages of UV resin photosensitive resin is an old and new material. Compared with general curing materials, light curing materials have the following advantages: fast curing, curing in a few seconds, and can be used in situations requiring immediate curing. Solvent free products can be prepared without heating. The use of solvents will involve many environmental problems and approval procedures. Therefore, every industrial sector tries to reduce the use of solvents. This is very useful for some non heat resistant plastic, optical and electronic parts; It can realize automatic operation and solidification, improve the degree of automation of production, so as to improve production efficiency and economic benefits. Photosensitive resin is being used in the emerging industry of 3D printing, which is favored and valued by the industry because of its excellent characteristics. Kaft’s first liquid photosensitive resin in China is used as 3D printing consumables, which is suitable for high-precision light curing 3D printing and SLA rapid prototyping system.
